Fasting means restraining the own and earnestness. In the base of Islamic shariah, fasting means, restraining own from the foods, water and sex since dawn to dusk with intentionally to the pleasure and desires of Almighty Allah.
Fasting is the third base of Islam. The other bases are
1. A revelation ( La Ilaha Illallaho Muhammadur Rashullillah)
2. Prayer ( Salat)
3. Fasting (Siam)
4. Hajj ( Visit the Holly Medina)
5. Purification (Jakat)
The almighty & kind-hearted Allah made the fasting as mandatory for every Muslim to keep them stay far away from the devils. Fasting also teach the Muslims to be more patient and kind-hearted to the poor. The fasting, a crucial Islamic ritual comes back again and again in every Arabic month of Ramadan.
