There are two groups in Islam one is Islam Sunni and another is Shia. But the maximum percent of Muslims are in the Sunni Groups. From the very beginning of Islam spreading while Imam Hasan and Hussain were alive, the Sunni and Shia of Islam were devided. There are several histories of that. I will describe these later.
